12 weeks

hello boys!! happy 12th week of your life!!! This week was full of naps, bottles, cuddling and trying to get Charlie healed from his surgery. I'm so happy to report that Charlie is doing great!!! His 2 incisions have healed and he is just about back to his normal self. Charlie in all the spoiling you got with your hernia you have decided you like to be held.... allllll.... theeeeee.... time!!!!! If we don't hold you when you want to be held you cry... turn red and have tears streaming down your little cute face!!! We are working to ease you out of that bad habit because I only have 2 arms ... that brings me to who takes care of you boys... during the day your jodee who is your dads mom takes care of you guys. She is the BEST!!! she dotes on you boys and loves on you boys and you are very lucky to have her!!!! On your daddys days off he takes care of you, which is a lot to ask of him since he works so hard but he loves taking care of you guys and then I take care of you guys in the evenings nights and weekends. Its working out great and as I type this im coming off 7 straight hours of sleep... daddy took night duty last night and let me sleep!!!! That was the longest I have slept straight since you guys have gotten here and I feel like a million bucks....!!! Some nights you guys sleep 4-5 hours and then every now and then you guys go wild and want to eat every 2 hours.... that's not very much fun for mommy!!! but your growing boys and I know your just hungry and this too shall pass and you will be sleeping straight through the night!!

Connor you have had a major growth spurt and you are MUCH heavier than your brother. You are very ticklish and harder to get to smile than Charlie but we manage to get a grin out of you every now and then ... you are now wearing size 3 month outfits!!! We have to have your clothes a little baggy because the cloth diapers are pretty big. If you are wearing a regular diaper you fit into 0-3 months just perfect... You are eating 4oz anywhere from every 2 hours to 4 hours... Your head is still odd shaped due to the fact that you love to look to the right... we are working on this every day all day... its slowing getting better and I know like the doctor said when you start sitting up it will work its self out. When you sit in our laps you have very good control of your head and love to look around. You are a happy baby and we just love you so much!!!!

Charlie you are smaller than your brother but we are blaming that dang hernia... but you are gonna catch up fast I just know it!!! Last night you drank 4oz!!! that's big buddy!!! you still fit in newborn outfits. You love the mornings and we get the biggest smiles out of you in the mornings. You love to be held and sit in our laps and look around. You have insanely great control of your head and its just so cute to see your little head bobbin around. Your a happy baby that knows what he wants!!! And we just cant get enough of your sweetness!!!

You are both cooing so much and its the sweetest sound there ever was!!!!

Life is just getting better and better with you boys!!! We are so blessed you are ours we couldn't ask for anything more!!!
This was my big project last weekend!! I love how it turned out!!!
you guys always fall asleep in auntie r-anns arms!!!
the best jodee there ever was!!!!
connor in 3 month clothes!!!!
you guys are loving to lay on a blanket and just stretch out and kick its so fun to watch
you both were pretty fussy the other night so daddy put on old cartoons and you LOVED Yosemite sam!!!! we turned on peppie le pue and you cried... and we turned on speedy Gonzalez and you cried but you watched Yosemite sam for 30 minutes straight!!!
exciting evening full of stuffing diapers... I wouldn't have my evenings any other way!!!!
the right is July 4th and the left was August 24th!!!! you sure are growing!!!

11 weeks / Charlies surgery

Week 11 was crazy!!! We had been scheduled for charlies surgery on Wednesday so for 7 days we had to deal with this hernia... hernias are weird.... the doctor basically told us "you can push it back in and it will relieve some of the pressure and pain.... omg!!! well we tried and we did the best we could but by the day before the surgery we were all counting down the hours!! he was in pain.. he couldn't poop... I was slightly freaking out... we needed this surgery done now!!! so the morning of Wednesday august 17th 2016 comes and little baby Charlie and I leave the house at 4:30... poor thing had to be fasting for 8 hours before the surgery ... side note this man has never gone more than 6 hours without eating... this car ride should be fun... Charlie and I said a prayer before we hit the road and yall... God is good... Charlie slept the hour and a half car ride annnnddd 2 hours in the waiting room and preop!!!! I couldn't believe it!! mom (grammy) met us there at 7 am which was sooooo sweet!!! she got to cuddle charle and he loved it!!! we are soooo lucky we have so many loved ones around us... every nurse that came by wanted to touch him and ohh and aww over him... which makes me think they don't see babies this small in the operating room we were at. now about the doctor... I had met her the week before at the doctors apt where she diagnosed it was a hernia duh... so I knew what to expect (she is very dry and HORRIBLE bedside manor) so I warned my mom because I know she would freak!! well the doctor wanders in 10 minutes after surgery should have started... wearing white linen pants with food stains on them, a lime green jacket, reading glasses on the tip of her nose, holding sparkly gold sunglasses and a purse... yall this purse!!! tiny purse about as big as a napkin with a long strap it was brown and about 25 years old.... so she rumbles thru her purse and finds a pen... signs a couple pieces of paper in his file and glares over the glasses... "have any questions"!!!! omg yes I do!!! all I get is 1 word answers... if this woman wasn't the best surgeon in the whole panhandle we would not have gone to her... ok she wonders off and the sweetest OR nurse comes and gets Charlie and he goes back to surgery never cries never freaks out about going 9+ hours with no food... so mom and I go wait in the waiting room... it took about an hour and 15 minutes then the little digital board said our sweet Charlie aka #4083 was in recovery... not long after here comes our doctor wandering out into the waiting room... she's in scrubs now... still with the glasses on the tip of her nose and that damn PURSE!!!! no joke she walks up to us and said.. "surgery is done... any questions?!?!?!?" yes.... yes I have questions... is he alive? did you remove any major organs??? seriously!!!!!! she leaves and mom looks at me and says "can someone get that woman a damn locker for that purse?!?!?! she probably took it into surgery" hahahaha we laughed soooo hard.... we soon got a call that Charlie was ready to go to his recovery room. they put him on the pediatric ICU floor... it freaked me out first... but later the nurse told me it was just because he was so small and it would keep him away from a lot of germs... there were only 3 other kids in the whole icu. we had great nurses... I cant stress enough how great the nurses at our hospital are!!!! they took such great care of us!!! we had to stay over night and the doctor with the purse was supposed to come discharge us the next MORNING.... well loooonngggg story short at 2 pm she finally returned the page and said she had asked another doctor to discharge us and he must have forgot.... I truly know that she was the one that forgot!!!! never again.... if connor gets a hernia he will have to have the 2nd best surgeon !!! the whole time we were in the hospital daddy and connor were at the house (we decided to divide and conquer... it worked) they did really good... jodee came and helped daddy and my sister and neice came and visited us in the hospital. were so glad its over and now were just working on getting Charlie healed!!!!

Connor has had a growth spurt and is now much bigger than Charlie... I think this hernia set him back a bit but that's ok he will catch up!!! connor is eating 4-5 oz every bottle and Charlie is eating 2-3 oz... connor is barely fitting in newborn.... fits great in 0-3 months and Charlie is sitting pretty in newborn size.

we had a dna test done to see if they were identical... we though they were, due to the 1 placenta... but my doctor put some doubt in my head, he said 2 placentas can fuse and look like one... so we paid the $150 and found out that on 15 different dna strands they were all 99.9 percent identical!!!!

we had a good week, so glad the surgery is done now on to great adventures!!!

they hated this swing... and then all of the sudden decided they love it!!! this is connor.

The boys room

Before I was pregnant I dreamed of how I would decorate my child's room... spent endless hours on pinterest pinning cute rooms for one day when we would have a baby.... did I use any of those designs?!?! ... NO!!! when we found out we were having 2 boys I knew it had to be boyish.. I didn't really like the pastel blues and soft teals... also donny's had this old airplane that he had put together with his uncle and I knew I wanted to put that in their room.. so I Googled plane's trains and automobiles... but finally just settled on antique air planes and fell in love... so with that we decided on a red white and blue color scheme.... now to find decorations... let me tell you red white and blue and air planes are not popular baby room decor but we made it work!!!
This was donny's old book case I painted red, all the books our loved ones gave the boys, their Sirius xm radio (thanks to daddy) and all their keepsakes
This was the rocker donny's grandma rocked him in. It is so special to us that his uncles gave it to us.
there is everything you could ever need in this closet... babies have a lot of stuff!!!!
I have spent MANY hours in this spot feeding the boys... I love this spot, I love the decoration on the wall... one is a picture I pained when I was 3 or 4 and my grandma held onto it for 28 or so years... and framed it for the boys room.
this is the crib I feed both boys in if they get hungry at the same time
For right now they share a crib. The bedding is vintage airplanes and chevron. Donny mom made all the bedding and bumpers!! She's pretty amaizing!!
This is our cloth diaper station... all about the cloth diapers in another post!!
Here is the changing table and the airplane  that started it all!!
Hope you enjoyed the room tour!!

10 weeks

Dear boys... Week 10 was a lazy week... you guys slept a lot... ate a lot... pooped a lot... we had some company, you bot started putting your hands in your mouths, and started reaching for the little hanging toys on your play mat. You are both starting to coo, not too much but a little and its the sweetest sound in the world!!! You both fart... a lot... and at the worst times... but that's ok because you are babies and cute and that makes up for it!!.
We met with the doctor that is going to do Charles surgery on his hernia and that will be Wednesday of next week. We have to stay in the hospital overnight but I am glad because that means we will have doctors and nurses close God forbid if anything goes wrong. Im so happy to be getting this done asap!!

We still love you boys more than anything in this world and you guys make our life so great!!!
